Photo Description: A right side view of a United States Air Force ( USAF ) JB-52E Stratofortress aircraft ( Serial Number – 57-0119 ) in flight. It was moved to General Electric in January 1966 and converted to JB-52E as engine testbed for TF39 for the C-5A Galaxy. It was put into long term storage in 1972. Decommissioned by GE in 1980 and towed to south end of lakebed at Rogers Dry Lake. Photo Description: A left side rear view of a United States Air Force ( USAF ) NB-52E Stratofortress aircraft ( Serial Number – 56-0632 ) during the Air Force Flight Dynamics Laboratory-Boeing Control Configured Vehicles program. It was the second B-52E built and was used for special test programs, mostly for stability and control testing. It was retired to MASDC June 1974 and eventually scrapped.
